What is integrative health coaching?
Integrative health coaching is an emerging health care field that partners you with someone to help you achieve your ideal vision of health, and helps move you towards a model of health that defines it as state of being rather than an absence of symptoms as is the case in our current model of health. Integrative health coaching is based on the neuroscience on the behavior of change, and is set up in a model to help you make behavioral lifestyle changes that assist you in your journey towards your optimal health.
As an integrative health coach, I help you assess your current health, where you would like to be, create a personal health plan, and help you work towards YOUR vision of health which can include use of complementary and allopathic medicine.
What are areas of health that health coaching can help you with?
Integrative health includes the normal aspects of health such as rest, nutrition and exercise. However, it also includes financial health, spirituality, mind-body connection, relationships, physical environment, and personal and professional development which all contribute to a healthy state of being.
Who should participate in health coaching?
Health coaching is appropriate for anyone who wants to improve their health. So whether you are already very confident in your ability to make health lifestyle choices or are new to it, health coaching has something to offer everyone.
What is involved in the health coaching process?
We begin by identifying YOUR vision of health and what that means for YOU
We help you determine how ready you are to make this change
We define what barriers or obstacles that may be in the way of you achieving your vision of health
We create action plans each session to help you reach your overall goal
We help you track your progress and create systems of support and accountability
We celebrate your success with you!
The process takes anywhere from 3 - 6 months for a specific goal though the partnership can continue on longer based on your needs and goals.
