Dr. Ellenita Chavez (formally Salko) grew up in rural northeastern Pennsylvania with a tradition of western family practice physicians. She was always fascinated by the human body form and function and studied various traditions of alternative healing. She is a graduate of Cornell University and New York Chiropractic College and attended the illustrious chiropractic internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland.
Dr Chavez’s practice blends her vast understanding of human anatomy and musculoskeletal pathologies with her intimate joy of yoga and energy medicine. She uses her intricate sense of touch and intuition for restorative and gentle chiropractic manipulation. Her yoga skills effectively combine meditation and rehabilitation. John Veltheim’s BodyTalk Systems complements and completes the mindbody experience.
In addition to her practice Dr. Chavez’s is consciously connected to her community. In the past she taught in the anatomy and physiology fields at Palmer West Chiropractic College and New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts. She currently is an offsite practitioner with the Santa Fe Soul healing community. In addition, she teaches an ongoing yoga at Santa Fe Soul. She is also involved in the music ministry at the St. Francis Cathedral Basilica in Santa Fe.
